A Second group consists of three to seven people who are interested in exploring faith, wrestling with important questions, and getting to know who’s first: Jesus. The Second group discusses the Bible and what it says about Jesus, while using one of the most powerful and ancient forms of communication -- story. It also means action; instead of just filling your head with ideas, a group is meant to inspire action in your everyday life. A Second group is about discovery and action.
Once you’ve downloaded the I Am Second app (iamsecond.com/app), follow these steps to start a group:
- Set up: Click on “Start a Group,” then follow the directions.
- Invite: Use the I Am Second app to invite others to join your group. Spread the word through text, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Get creative!
- Time and place: Decide when and where to meet. Most groups meet face-to-face and use the app for the discussion aspect. But you can meet by Google Hangout, Skype, Facebook, Snapchat, or whatever way you want. As long as each person has the app, you’re good to go.
